AC Milan face a difficult task in trying to secure the renewal of Rafael Leao because of two reasons in particular, according to a report.

According to Il Giornale (via MilanNews), Milan has been working on the renewal of Rafael Leao for months now given that his current contract expires in 2024, meaning that arriving at the next summer window without an extension would mean his deal has less than a year to run.
hOWEVER, there are two problems that are complicating the negotiation more and more. First of all there is the compension amount that Leao owes to Sporting CP – which is around €19m – after the termination of his deal in 2018.
Then, there is the fact the Portuguese forward is at the centre of an internal battle between his two representatives, namely his agent agent Mendes and a lawyer that is close to his family, and they do not always see eye to eye.
