Giroud explains ‘special emotion’ of Champions League goal but picks areas to improve – video

Olivier Giroud got his name on the scoresheet in the Champions League for the first time since joining AC Milan, and he was happy with the performance against Dinamo Zagreb.

A first half penalty from the Frenchman opened the scoring Alexis Saelemaekers doubled the advantage with a header. Orsic got one back for the away side before Tommaso Pobega scored his first ever Milan goal to put things to bed.

Giroud spoke to Milan TV after the game to give his thoughts on the victory and the way the Rossoneri played, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

On the match against Dinamo Zagreb: “I wanted to take advantage of the point away from home against Salzburg. We started the match well, we could have been better in the last pass and finishing but we are very happy.”

On the goal: “It is always a special emotion to play the Champions League, I am very happy because I have one more goal and I want to continue like this.”

On the match against Napoli: “We know this is very important, Napoli are first like us and it will be important to recover well and be ready for this great match.”
