France booked their place in a second consecutive World Cup final thanks to Theo Hernandez’s early strike and Randal Kolo Muani’s goal 44 seconds after coming off the bench in the second half, beating Morocco 2-0.
Les Bleus are aiming to become the first side to win back-to-back World Cups since Brazil in 1962, but they will come up against Lionel Messi and co. who are hoping to end a 36-year drought themselves.
Giroud spoke to Sportitalia after the game to reflect on what it means to reach the World Cup final and have another shot of glory, which of course means there will be plenty of Milan fans behind them.
“I’m very happy for Theo, he scored a great goal and I’m very happy for him. We are both proud to represent Milan in the final and we hope to win the second World Cup. Was it Pioli on fire at the end of the game? Always!” he said.
