Milan headed into the clash ten points behind their city rivals, more or less already ruled out of the Scudetto race, and almost all pundits saw Inter as the favourites. However, it became clear pretty quickly that the Rossoneri weren’t going to lie down without a fight.
Pervis Estupinan opened the scoring with an absolute rocket, following a lovely pass by Youssouf Fofana, and that was enough to seal the three points in the end. Not just three points, mind you, but also Milan’s first double over Inter since 2011, making the Ecuadorian the clear MOTM.
