‘I was surprised’ – Tomori and Musah speak about Australia trip so far

AC Milan are getting ready for their post-season friendly in Perth today as they will take on Roma at 13:00 CEST. Fikayo Tomori and Yunus Musah provided their thoughts on the occasions.

Milan held an open training session at HBF Stadium in Perth, where the team prepared for the upcoming game against the Giallorossi. The session was attended by over 5,000 fans who purchased tickets, with all proceeds going to the charity Telethon.

Fans from AC Milan Fan Clubs in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Indonesia created a vibrant and supportive atmosphere, with chants in Italian coming from the stands.

At the end of the training session, Fikayo Tomori and Yunus Musah spoke with the many media representatives in attendance.

Tomori: “The people have been really nice to us, everyone has been very welcoming. I was surprised to see how many Italians there are here.

“A lot of people are coming to us speaking Italian and it has been a nice surprise – there have been many people at the hotel waiting for us to take a picture or an autograph and now seeing this crowd at our training session is incredible.

“Coming to the other side of the world and feeling at home is special. I have been here in Perth before and it is nice to be back.”

Musah: “It’s been great to meet our fans here, so far from home. I’m enjoying it a lot and I’m happy we are able to be here and spend some time with our fans, who have been incredible.

“Wherever we travel and see so much support, we really understand how big and special AC Milan is globally. It is able to really bring people together and that is unique.”

We reported a couple of days ago that the club told us ticket sales were going ‘extremely well’ for the game, and Milan-Roma had already beaten last year’s fixture at the same stadium, which was Tottenham vs. West Ham.

The final number is expected to be around 60,000, which comfortably beats the 48,000 tickets that were sold for the concert of the very famous singer Taylor Swift in 2018, admittedly at a lot higher prices.
