Massimiliano Allegri’s frustration towards Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s influence seems to have been justified, if Monica Colombo is to be believed.

It seems like a lifetime ago, but just over a week ago Milan lost the season finale at San Siro against Cagliari, thus losing their place in next season’s Champions League and having to settle for the Europa League.
The late-season collapse has seen a major fall-out, while reports spoke of Ibrahimovic and Allegri not even been on speaking terms. The tense atmosphere around the club may have sapped focus and energy from the team, which ultimately led to the sacking of the coach.
Ibrahimovic’s controversial call
Monica Colombo – a journalist for Corriere della Sera – spoke on Tutti Convocati on Radio 24. She spoke about how Allegri has tried to keep the dressing room protected from external interference but was unable to.
“I believe Allegri tried to isolate the group at Milanello from external influences. At the moment in the meeting where he told Ibrahimovic to sell five players – including Leao and Loftus-Cheek – and he called them, this did not help them to row in the same direction,” she said (via MilanNews).
As a reminder, Colombo also revealed that Zlatan and Max had to be ‘physically separated’ during a heated altercation at a Milanese restaurant by Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani, who have also been sacked since too.
