GdS: Ibrahimovic returns and is decisive again – he is Pioli’s extra weapon

Zlatan Ibrahimovic made his return to the field last night and he was once again a thorn in Lazio’s side, setting up the winning goal for Sandro Tonali.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how after the Achilles tendon problem sustained at the end of January against Juventus and the knee overload he suffered from more recently, the Swede has struggled to even get on the field in 2022 so far.

However, he came on for the last quarter of the game against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico and proved just how decisive he can be, sending a header into the path of Tonali for the winning goal in the 92nd minute.

The return of the 40-year-old could well be fundamental in this final sprint in the Scudetto race as the Rossoneri must try to win all the last four matches and then hope for an Inter slip-up. It won’t be easy, but being able to count on someone like Ibrahimovic for his goals and contributions is an added bonus.

Milan must try to exploit him as much as possible and Stefano Pioli hopes he can perhaps have an even more decisive hand in one of the final few games.
