Inter chief Marotta responds to question about possible future at AC Milan

Inter chief Beppe Marotta has responded jokingly to a question about him potentially working for AC Milan in the future.

Marotta was on stage to receive the Rosa Comuna award (via Iotifo Inter) and he was asked a question by the president of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana, who is an AC Milan fan, about the possibility of a future at Milan after he feels finished with his work at Inter.

The Nerazzurri CEO Sport responded: “My journey is almost over. After Inter I’m finished, so I’m resting.”

Whilst there has never been a suggestion that Marotta would take up a role with Milan, fans can perhaps be pleased with the idea that he may soon retire. Marotta has been able to operate very impressively for Inter in the transfer market and is a big part of why they finished 19 points ahead of Milan.
Marotta has regularly been able to secure players on free transfers or for less of a fee than many expected, and that is continuing into the new season with Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi set to join for free this summer.
Milan will be hoping for a successful summer of their own to challenge for the Serie A title.
