Inter striker Lautaro talks up Supercoppa clash with Milan: “It’s a final, a derby”

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has talked up the importance of the Supercoppa Italiana final against AC Milan which takes place on Wednesday.

Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport (via Milan News), the Argentine striker emphasised the fact that any game against Milan is worth trying to win, especially if there is a trophy on the line.

“It’s a final, a derby. Another title, we have to rest, tomorrow we leave for Saudi Arabia and we will try to bring the cup to our fans,” Martinez said after the match.

The game is taking place in Saudi Arabia and the Inter team set off for Riyadh on Sunday afternoon. They will be assessing the fitness of Romelu Lukaku, Marcelo Brozovic and Denzel Dumfries before the game which kicks off at 20:00 CET on January 18.

Lautaro was Inter’s only scorer in their most recent Serie A game as they beat relegation-threatened Hellas Verona 1-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday evening.

Milan come into the game having only managed to get a point against Lecce after coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 on Saturday evening.
