Jacobs: Al-Nassr join Milan in race for Tottenham full-back Emerson Royal

Emerson Royal is one of AC Milan’s top targets for the right-hand side of the defence and negotiations are ongoing with Tottenham. However, as reported by Ben Jacobs, the Rossoneri will face competition from Al-Nassr.

Last week, Milan made an offer for Emerson Royal but it was immediately rejected by Tottenham, who are looking for a fee of around €20m. Although the Rossoneri were hoping to reach a compromise during upcoming talks, this might be more difficult than first thought.

According to the journalist Ben Jacobs, speaking on PlaybackTV, the full-back joining Milan ‘is a possibility’ but Al-Nassr have also joined the race. The interest of the Saudi Arabian club should allow Spurs to ‘get the price they are looking for’, he added.

Certainly, it would be difficult for Milan to compete with a hefty offer and Tottenham will surely be looking to get as much money as possible. Another right-back target is Lille’s Tiago Santos, as we were first to report, but he doesn’t seem to be a priority for now.

While Al-Nassr might be able to satisfy Tottenham, it remains to be seen if they can get the player onboard as well. The feeling is that a hefty salary will take care of that, though.
