Ardon Jashari has revealed that the decision regarding his World Cup squad number was influenced by Luka Modric.
Jashari will be one of the 10 Milan players who will participate in the World Cup , which starts on Thursday 11 June. In an post shared on the social media of the SRF Sport newspaper, the Swiss midfielder explained how he chose to wear the No.14 shirt for the tournament.

“Our kit man called me to tell me which number was available. I chose 14 because my midfield partner at Milan this season is Luka Modric, who wears that very number,” he said.
The decision of the former Club Brugge man further demonstrates the strong bond that Ardon has created with the Croatian maestro, in a season spent largely studying how he plays the regista role.
