Journalist brutally honest about the state of Milan’s attack: “Origi alone is not enough”

AC Milan need some work on their group of forwards going into next season because the current squad have far too many uncertainties, a journalist has claimed.

In his column for MilanNews, Franco Ordine writes about how Zlatan Ibrahimovic should call time on his playing days because of the signings his 40-year-old body is giving him, but raises questions about his current supporting cast.

Olivier Giroud ‘is doing his job’ but Marko Lazetic is only 18 and there are ‘no exhilarating judgments’ so far on him. Rafael Leao ‘took a month’s paid vacation without notifying the club’, while Messias ‘laid bare his limited technical baggage’ and is not good enough for a team aiming to win the league.

Brahim Diaz has been ‘missing a goal for too long’ and ‘did not make the promised leap’ meaning the current situation is ‘increasingly urgent’ and that is why ‘Origi alone is not enough’. In Liverpool he is not a starter and he has never scored an avalanche of goals.

A new starting striker is needed and Ordine calls upon Moncada and his associates ‘to find someone like Maignan or Kalulu’ because the economic resources of the next market are not infinite.
