Luka Jovic got his name on the scoresheet again last night, netting his first goal in European competition for AC Milan since joining last summer.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes this morning, Jovic gave a lesson in how to be decisive in a thousand different ways on a football pitch and he did so inside five days.
There were the practical demonstrations with the sending off (against Monza), the goal (against Rennes) and the penalty for handball (also against Rennes). Let’s say he’s not a boring player.
On a more serious note, there was very little that the Serbian could do about the handball which many still believe to be a harsh call, while the goal that he scored showed he is still in excellent touch when it comes to finishing.
A bonus: he did it by playing as a lone striker, not together with Olivier Giroud, and starting the match, not entering the second half. Those are two things that go against the trend of his season.
After the game, Stefano Pioli said: “Unfortunately Luka committed serious naivety on Sunday. He had his chance and he deserved it all. He has great qualities, he knows how to be ruthless inside the area and knows how to make the team play well.
“We can also play with the two strikers, he and Giroud are definitely a beautiful couple. He is doing well and must continue to demand a lot from himself.”
Jovic scored his first goal in Europe as a Milan player in Rennes and resumed the comparisons with 2018-19, his best season, when with Eintracht he scored in Marseille, in Limassol, in Milan against Inter, in Lisbon with Benfica and in London with Chelsea.
