Milan make Kessie the captain again for Genoa game despite uncertainty over future

AC Milan have made the decision to give Franck Kessie the captain’s armband again for tonight’s game against Genoa, it has been confirmed.

The Ivorian midfielder returns to the starting line-up having begun Sunday’s 3-1 defeat against Sassuolo on the bench. MilanNews have confirmed that for tonight’s match against Genoa, Kessie will be the captain for the second time in the last three games.

The No.79 also wore the armband during the 4-3 loss to Fiorentina just after the international break and will wear it again in what will be his 200th appearance for the club, with Simon Kjaer the deputy.

Of course it could be that Pioli has given the captaincy to the player with the most appearances in the XI. However, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) recently reported that the Rossoneri management are working hard on convincing the player to renew and know that giving him such a status will make him feel important and make clear that they still respect the player.
