It has not been Rafael Leao’s finest summer and his latest words have caused even more criticism to arrive for the AC Milan winger.

At the start of the summer, Milan fans were subjected to the Portuguese star stating that he wanted to leave the club. As an isolated incident, it was frustrating and wrong, but potentially salvageable. However, when two other interviews with similar statements were released, it closed a door.

Indeed, the Rossoneri are now quite happy to see him leave this summer and are actively hoping that he leaves the club with assessments underway for his replacement. Unfortunately, though, there is a lack of interest from clubs that he has eyed.

This could mean he remains for another season.

Leao faces backlash… again

Now, Leao is back in the spotlight again, but it is not the Diavolo who have been the target of his comments. Instead, he made a sexist comment on his private Instagram account (@Imjus.tbeingme) about the World Cup now that it has finished, as relayed by MilanXtra on X.

“GIRLS, world cup is finished. Now u can stop acting like u understand football”

He later added a follow-up on the same Instagram account, stating, ‘stop taking this Instagram too serious guys’. An attempt to lessen the damage which has already been done. It’s not been a great summer for Leao’s PR, that much is certain.
