After many reports, Rafael Leao was given the nod ahead of Brahim Diaz last night, starting on the left flank against city rivals Inter. It’s a decision that Stefano Pioli should be happy with, considering the outcome.
The Portuguese youngster assisted Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the second goal, leaving Danilo D’Ambrosio for dead, and caused problems for the Nerazzurri defence several times. In a challenge with Achraf Hakimi, he hilariously won the ball.
It may have a been a risky move, but Leao managed to win the ball back by stamping on it, resulting in Hakimi falling to the ground. Leao himself reacted to it, responding on Twitter with the laughing emojis.
