Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes has denied that there are any ongoing negotiations with AC Milan over Granit Xhaka.

It has been a strange last couple of days with regards to the Xhaka rumours, starting with Fabrizio Romano stating that personal terms having been agreed, but there is still a sizeable gap between offer and demand.
Late last night, Sky reported that the Bundesliga side are now open to letting the 32-year-old depart and for a figure of €8-10m, which is exactly what Milan’s first offer to them was reported to be.
Leverkusen deny talks
Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes has now refuted claims that there are ongoing talks with the Rossoneri over the potential sale of their captain. He spoke to the German news outlet Kicker.
“There are no negotiations with Milan about Granit Xhaka. We want to keep him, because Granit is a very important player for us,” he said.
Amid reports that Milan are close to finalising a €25m deal for Samuele Ricci of Torino and have raised their offer for Ardon Jashari of Club Brugge to above €30m, it is possible that Igli Tare and co. have in fact already pivot away from the Swiss.
