At present, Loftus-Cheek is in the motion of a return from a new injury. However, this one has not followed the trends that absences in his career often have. Rather than a muscle injury, he suffered a broken jaw.
It has kept him sidelined, but it has not required him to go through a rehabilitation process. So, he has still been able to do athletic work in recent weeks.
If nothing else, it has offered him a break and a chance to return back motivated to attack the final games of the season.
Loftus-Cheek’s interview
There is a reason why this season’s finale could also be important for him, too. Indeed, the Englishman hopes to discuss his future and a possible renewal with the Rossoneri this summer, as he told Sportmediaset, via MilanNews.
“I have a contract until the end of 2027, I think we’ll discuss it with the club in the summer. I love AC Milan and Milan, but now I’m focused on the end of the season.”
He also commented on the recent struggles of his former Chelsea teammate, Christian Pulisic.
“It’s normal to go through difficult moments every now and then, I’m sure he’ll score again. And in any case, he works hard for the team, he comes back to defend, even without goals he gives us a lot.”
