Longari: Milan await possible discount for Tottenham midfielder Hojbjerg – the latest

Pierre-Emil Hojbjerg has been linked with a move to AC Milan in the last few weeks and while the idea has seemingly gone quiet, the interest remains. According to a journalist, the Rossoneri are awaiting a potential discount from Tottenham.

Milan are currently in talks with Monaco over Youssouf Fofana, who is the primary target for the midfield, but he might not be the only one to arrive. Hojbjerg has also been linked with the club as his contract with Tottenham will expire next summer.

According to SportItalia’s Gianluigi Longari, as cited by @garante_il on X, Hojbjerg has been offered to Milan by his entourage and the Rossoneri are evaluating the player. Tottenham are also open to discussing a sale but for the time being, their demands are a bit too high.

As such, the interest is currently on ‘standby’ and it remains to be seen if there will be an opening towards the end of the transfer window. Given the expiring contract, it’s possible that Spurs could settle for a little less than first intended in order to avoid a free transfer.

In any case, Milan’s main target is Fofana and that is really the important signing, while Hojbjerg could potentially be a ‘late mercato opportunity’.
