MilanNews reports that Milan have communicated officially how Maignan suffered an injury to the soleus muscle of his right leg during training this afternoon. The Rossoneri goalkeeper will be re-evaluated in 10 days, which usually means we are looking at an absence of multiple weeks.

It is therefore a different injury than the one he sustained on September 23 with the national team, when he suffered a problem with the medial twin of his left calf.

The report adds that his call-up for the World Cup is at risk and it is very likely that Milan will get him back only in 2023, which is a bitterly disappointing blow for Maignan and for Stefano Pioli who hoped to have him back even in time for the game against Monza on Saturday evening.
