Maignan: “I didn’t come to make Donnarumma forgotten” – video

AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has insisted that he did not join the club to try and replace or surpass Gianluigi Donnarumma in any way, but rather to carve his own legacy at the club.

Maignan spoke to SportMediaset after last night’s 4-0 win against Inter in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals about a number of different topics including the two recent victories, his secrets and coming to replace Donnarumma.

“The derby was very important for Milan, for us it was also important for the classification,” he said (via MilanNews).

On the victory against Lazio: “We played with the right mentality, we played with intensity and we won the match. The Italian Cup is an important competition for us.”

On his secrets: “I am very demanding, for a goalkeeper the details are fundamental. I try to do my job in the best possible way.”

On Donnarumma: “I didn’t come to make Donnarumma forgotten, but to do my job.”
