As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews) this morning, the return of Maignan – which has been long awaited by everyone from Pioli to the fans – may not come against Tottenham, a match that the goalkeeper had set as his target since December.
There is still a chance that he makes it back for the Champions League round of 16 first leg, and he can be inserted into the squad list for that game up to 24 hours before kick-off, which explains his initial exclusion.
If he fails to return in the Champions League, Maignan should still be available for the next league match against Monza, but it will be necessary to wait a few more days to see how his calf muscle continues to heal and when he resumes full training.
