CM: Maldini not willing to offer Romagnoli more than €2.5m per year to renew – the situation

Lazio believe that they can sign Alessio Romagnoli from AC Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com are reporting that Lazio president Claudio Lotito is already looking at potential free transfers to strengthen the squad available to head coach Maurizio Sarri, including goalkeeper David Ospina.

They are also serious about Romagnoli and they have verbally offered €3m net per season to the 27-year-old and his agent Mino Raiola. Currently the Milan captain earns €5.5m net but Paolo Maldini is not willing to go beyond €2.5m to extend his deal, at least for the moment.

This is why Lazio believe in their chances of signing the former Roma man, who despite his past with the capital club is actually a boyhood Lazio fan. Lazio ‘have a good chance of reaching the finish line’ and the inclusion of bonuses could make the difference.
