Meczyki: Milan line up OGC Nice keeper amid Maignan interest – talks have begun

AC Milan are interested in signing Marcin Bułka as they begin to plan for a potential life without Mike Maignan in goal, according to a report.

According to the Polish source Meczyki, there have been some ‘behind-the-scenes conversations regarding the idea of Bulka joining Milan this summer, and the 24-year-old would be a potential successor to Maignan.

The Poland international has just had the best season of his career and although it was the ex-Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma who won the award for the best goalkeeper in Ligue 1, many believed that the award should have gone to Bulka who racked up 17 clean sheets with OGC Nice.

Bulka had some memorable moments during the season, such as when he saved two penalty kicks in the same game against AS Monaco, which is a derby for Nice. He is expected to be highly sought after this summer.

Meanwhile, Milan are keen because of the uncertainty connected to Maignan. The 28-year-old is being linked with Manchester City as a potential successor to Ederson, who is very tempted by clubs from Saudi Arabia.

A lot may depend on whether Maignan will change clubs, but he is also expected to be on the list of potential options for Arab clubs, so if they do not get Ederson or Liverpool’s Alisson Becker then they might turn to the former Lille star.

Bulka is valued by Transfermarkt at €20m, but money would not be an obstacle for the Rossoneri because Maignan is a player valued at twice as much. The first contacts regarding Bułka and his move to Milan have already been made.
