Meczyki: Milan line up OGC Nice keeper amid Maignan interest – talks have begun

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Marcin Bułka as they begin to plan for a potential life without Mike Maignan in goal, according to a report.

According to the Polish source Meczyki, there have been some ‘behind-the-scenes conversations regarding the idea of Bulka joining Milan this summer, and the 24-year-old would be a potential successor to Maignan.

The Poland international has just had the best season of his career and although it was the ex-Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma who won the award for the best goalkeeper in Ligue 1, many believed that the award should have gone to Bulka who racked up 17 clean sheets with OGC Nice.

Bulka had some memorable moments during the season, such as when he saved two penalty kicks in the same game against AS Monaco, which is a derby for Nice. He is expected to be highly sought after this summer.

Meanwhile, Milan are keen because of the uncertainty connected to Maignan. The 28-year-old is being linked with Manchester City as a potential successor to Ederson, who is very tempted by clubs from Saudi Arabia.

A lot may depend on whether Maignan will change clubs, but he is also expected to be on the list of potential options for Arab clubs, so if they do not get Ederson or Liverpool’s Alisson Becker then they might turn to the former Lille star.

Bulka is valued by Transfermarkt at €20m, but money would not be an obstacle for the Rossoneri because Maignan is a player valued at twice as much. The first contacts regarding Bułka and his move to Milan have already been made.

  1. Just buy Carnesecchi ffs.

    They’re allergic to Italian players.

If we sell mike Carnesecchi should be our #1 target. No excuses for not going after him.

    1. Absolutely you right but Atalanta will ask for 30-40 mil euros for Carnesecchi. If Napoli wanna sell Caprile from Empoli, he can be a very good option for us, very talented gk

  2. We have a great batch of Italian keepers at the moment, including our own Sportiello and we are going for yet another import ??!! Its fxcking sickening, if Mike goes we have to go for Carnesecchi, can’t believe this obsession with bloody ligue 1 players !!!!

    1. Our sporting direction is a former Ligue 1 scout and our future coach is a former Ligue 1 coach. It’s a good place to shop considering our new policy of “buy low sell high”. At this point, Jerry should even build the new stadium across the Alps…

  3. Sportiello is at best a backup. His performance in Australia leaves much to be desired. I like the Monza keeper though…even Perin of Juve is so underrated….

  4. Di Gregorio the best keeper in seria A was avaliable for 20mil plus Galiani would prefer to sell to Milan rather anyone else, there would be no prob there.. However once again their hate towards Italians shows. Get the f out of Italy if you hate it so much.

  5. Well this bulka can stop penalty kick unlike our world class GK that asking 8m euro nett. But i still prefer italian GK like carnesachi, cragno, falcone or provedel
