Mediaset: Real Madrid open to loan exit for striker as Milan make him back-up to Chelsea man

AC Milan have two options in mind for the centre-forward position including a primary target and a back-up option, according to a report.

Given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently underwent surgery that will keep him out until August, the Rossoneri management are on the hunt for a striker who can take his place and will perhaps offer more guarantees from a physical point of view, especially when considering that the Swede will turn 40 later this year.

According to what SportMediaset (via MilanNews) are reporting, Milan’s favoured option for the time being is Olivier Giroud. However, they planned to sign him on a free transfer and Chelsea exercised a club option to renew his deal until 2022, which complicates matters.

If the Frenchman fails to free himself from Chelsea, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara already have plan B ready: Luka Jovic of Real Madrid. Los Blancos have opened to a two-year loan with an obligation to buy.
