Italian journalist says Milan attacker is ‘growing physically’ after Bologna clash

Italian journalist Stefano Borghi has said that Charles De Ketelaere is growing in a physical sense after his exploits against Bologna.

Speaking whilst on DAZN on Sunday night (via Milan News) Borghi discussed the performance of the Belgian youngster who made his first start for the club since making his move from Club Brugge.

It was a very positive display that saw him get his first assist but Borghi wanted to pick out the fact that despite being marked by the physical Bologna midfielder Jerdy Schouten, De Ketelaere was able to come out on top in many duels.

“He is growing physically. Against Bologna he was marked by Schouten, who is a fairly tough nut to crack, and in the battles the Belgian almost always got the better of him,” Borghi said.

There is always a fear with young players making the step up to an elite European league that they will get swallowed up physically.

That does not seem to be the case for De Ketelaere who got the assist for Rafael Leao to open the scoring at San Siro on Saturday night.
