Gds: Brahim Diaz appears recharged during Inter win – next mission is to end goal drought

AC Milan won the derby against Inter on Saturday night thanks to Mike Maignan’s saves and Olivier Giroud’s brace, but what was also decisive was the entry of Brahim Diaz.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, the move to play Franck Kessie as the attacking midfielder did not work against the Nerazzurri so during the second half Stefano Pioli decided to call time on the experiment and brought on Brahim, who made a real difference as he had a hand in the equaliser 15 minutes after coming on.

The Real Madrid loanee hopes to have finally found some confidence again after a very positive start that was derailed in October when he got Covid. He has still not scored since 25 September against Spezia, but tonight against Lazio a new chance to do so will come.

The derby could be a real turning point psychologically for the 22-year-old and the hope is that the dark moment is now behind him, because Pioli needs the most natural interpreter of the role in his squad to be firing.
