Manchester City are willing to sell Mateo Kovacic in upcoming transfer windows, and AC Milan are reportedly keen on signing him.
According to Daily Briefing, offers are ‘expected’ to arrive in Manchester City’s inbox for Kovacic as early as the January transfer window. Given that he ‘is no longer a regular part of Pep Guardiola’s starting line up’, the possibility of selling him is not a remote one.

Crossing the divide?
The report states that Milan are keen on bringing the Croatian back to Serie A, but his former club Inter are also keen. Kovacic has admirers in the Premier League and LaLiga too though, so he might well be spoilt for choice.
Milan have been linked with Kovacic in recent years, most recently in 2023. A source apparently told them: “There are no talks ongoing over a new contract for Kovacic at City. The likelihood is that City will be receptive to offers in January.

“Milan in particular are looking at this opportunity to accelerate a move. West Ham and Aston Villa are also interested, but less advanced for now. Same for Villarreal and Real Betis.”
There is the possibility that the chance to join up with Luka Modric at Milan ‘could be appealing to Kovacic, and a key factor in deciding his future’. However, the 31-year-old may also look favourably on going back to Inter, given his previous ties to the Nerazzurri.

By all means, go back to Inter.
Lol. 100% an Allegri type signing. As long as we have Allegri, these are the types of midfielders we’ll sign. 28-32 years old, large box to box midfielders. Expect Ricci and Jashari to move on before long and players like Kovacic to replace them. Might be OK if we win some silverware, but if we don’t, in a couple of seasons we’ll be left with a squad of aging highly paid players and no cash to rejuvenate because old players on high salaries are impossible to sell for profit. That’s also when Allegri walks…¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Few questions
How are the aging highly paid players that were Allegri signings like Modric and Rabiot doing so far?
Just a few months ago fans were complaining that Milan is only signing unknown young players, now the complaints are about Milan signing 28-32 years old players?
How is Kovacic a large box to box midfielder?
How many current Milan players are aging highly paid that will provide no cash to rejuvenate the squad? I think only Modric, Rabiot and Maignan are 30 or over, the rest are 27 and younger.
What are we talking about here?
Was he the player giving his pants to fans and run half nak*d to the locker room
I don’t know.
I am not even in favor of signing Kovacic because i don’t care much for him as a player, regardless of age or salary. I was just addressing the comment that isn’t really close to the reality of the situation at Milan.
2 managers with most Serie A titles in history prefer signing experienced players over youngsters. Are they right or you with 0 titles?
Top player, I can see a lot of people really don’t get football basics.
Agree, if this is remotely true that i give it a thumps up. A classy midfielder but i only worry about his injuries…
If Kovačić goes somewhere it will be to Milan to play with Modrić again. They are friends and know each other since they were teenagers and i am sure they wanna play together again on a club basis and not only with Croatias national team.
my god, stop going for centre mids when our entire attack is 3 wingers and one striker.
