Milan mayor says ‘it takes patience’ but assures: “The new stadium can be done”

In the last few months, AC Milan and Inter’s stadium project has seemingly slowed down quite a lot, to the point where they have been looking at other areas. However, the Milan mayor has assured that it isn’t over.

The two clubs are obviously keen on building their new stadium next to the Guiseppe Meazza, located in the San Siro area. But since it’s owned by the city council, the process has been very long thus far and there have been many hurdles.

Speaking during a cycling event yesterday, as cited by Calciomercato.com, Milan mayor Beppe Sala shared his thoughts on the stadium project. As said, some rumours have suggested that the clubs could look at other areas for their project.

“The new stadium can be done. Unfortunately, in our country everything is very complicated: it takes patience, however, the path isn’t interrupted. In my opinion, it has also started well, it just takes a little patience,” he stated.

Hopefully, the situation will unlock soon but it’s becoming clear that it’s far from easy. That is why an alternative area cannot be ruled out for the project just yet, also because it will put pressure on the Milan city council.
