As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, little progress appears to have been made on Tuesday in regard to Leao’s proposed new contract.
There was supposed to be a meeting with the father of the Portuguese star at Casa Milan but it did not go ahead. The parties will have to reschedule for a new date as Milan want to have the situation resolved before the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
His contract is set to expire in June 2024 which means that the Rossoneri are at risk of losing him for a fee that does not represent his value. He is also now underpaid for the quality that he is showing on the pitch.
The meeting with the father would not have been decisive by any means, but it would have helped to discuss some details.
