RMC Sport reported last month that Caqueret has received a good offer to extend his contract at Lyon but he is now reflecting on his future after receiving a bid from Milan, with his current deal expiring in June 2023.
Now, the same source (via GFNF) are reporting that the 22-year-old is set to extend his stay with Lyon until 2026. They confirm that Caqueret was deliberating whether to accept Lyon’s offer because Milan had come forward, but the chance to quadruple his salary seems to have done the trick.
There were unsuccessful negotiations at the start of the season that were resumed in the spring and he has apparently been told that he will get the captain’s armband at some point in the future. Caqueret is now expected to officially sign the new deal in the coming days.
