A new target has emerged for AC Milan as they have made an offer for Lyon midfielder Maxence Caqueret, according to a report from France.
According to RMC Sport, Caqueret has received a good offer to extend his contract at Lyon but he is now reflecting on his future after receiving a bid from Milan. Nothing has been decided yet but the fact his current deal expires in June 2023 means the 22-year-old is thinking about his next move.
The offer on the table from Lyon would see Caqueret multiply his salary by four and he has received the assurance of becoming captain in the medium or long term. However, the Rossoneri are looking to add to their French core of Olivier Giroud, Théo Hernandez and Pierre Kalulu and they have pitched him a contract.
This offer is making him think because Milan will play in the Champions League next season and are in another Scudetto battle, while Lyon are eighth in Ligue 1, seven points behind the European places.
