CorSport: Milan offered Stones by intermediaries but Inacio remains the favourite

This summer, AC Milan will sign another central defender and there are plenty of options for them to look at, as reports suggest.

It has been a mad few weeks for Milan. A €75 million deal for Goncalo Ramos was shortly followed by a €30m move for Mario Gila, all whilst no sacrifices have been made. For the Rossoneri, these are not normal figures; this much can be confirmed.

However, Gerry Cardinale is changing the way in which he acts at the top of the club and he has stated his desire to win on countless occasions, most recently this afternoon, in a press conference with Ruben Amorim.

Stones or Inacio

He and Amorim are leading the club forward and the Portuguese is clear that he wants another central defender for next season. The costs will not be major too, especially with the way that the Gila deal has been structured.

With this, Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that the focus for the next addition – at least defensively – would be Goncalo Inacio. However, he remains slightly pricey at around €40-50m; alternatively, they may have a look at free agents.

John Stones, who is having a solid World Cup, has been offered by intermediaries and he could well be a smart option for the club. Though his wages would make a deal slightly difficult unless they were renegotiated…
