GdS: Milan’s move for Origi does not exclude pursuit of Sassuolo star Scamacca

AC Milan have an eye on the summer transfer window and the signing of Divock Origi would not rule out another striker arriving, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are starting to programme how the squad should look heading into 2022-23 and one of the things they are having to deeply consider is ensuring there are enough home-grown players (who came through Italian academies) for the UEFA squad list.

The talks over Liverpool striker Divock Origi are proceeding quickly and there is a belief that he represents a wise reinforcement of experience but with an evident economic saving, given that the he would arrive on a free transfer.

However, the management have also not given up on Gianluca Scamacca, the Sassuolo centre-forward who is valued at around €40m. The Belgian is preferred for naturally financial reasons, but Milan do not seem to be ruling out a concrete move for the 23-year-old either, given that the attack needs to get younger.
