David Odogu is not getting regular playing time under Massimiliano Allegri, and AC Milan are plotting a loan move for him.
Milan turned to Odogu late in the summer transfer window, a name practically unheard of and with good reason. As opposed to the experienced names like Manuel Akanji and Joe Gomez, the German only had three senior appearances to his name when arriving.

As Calciomercato.com report, Akanji joined Inter because he wanted to be a key player in the Champions League, and Gomez was made to stay at Liverpool because they failed to get Marc Guehi, so Igli Tare paid €10m for Odogu.
Reflections underway
The 2006-born defender arrived as a surprise to both the Rossoneri fans and himself. Perhaps as expected, his playing time has been very limited: just 11 minutes for the first team in the Coppa Italia match against Lecce and one appearance for Milan Futuro.
The initial assessment is clear: Odogu is a promising prospect, but, as things stand, he’s not ready to play for Milan. Before the end of the year, Tare will make a decision on Odogu in consultation with the player’s entourage, who are expected in Milan shortly.
The option of a loan until the end of the season is gaining traction. David needs a significant challenge that can guarantee him crucial playing time to help him develop, ideally in Serie A, but the enquiries received so far have been primarily from German clubs.
Clearly, Tare would only approve the transfer after signing another defender given that Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlovic, Fikayo Tomori and Koni De Winter are the senior options at present.
Yes, overpaid. 10M€ for a guy that played 270 minutes of senior football. Some people compared this to Thiaw transfer. When he came to Milan he played over 50 full games for Schalke, some in 2nd and some in Bundesliga. He cost 12.8M. How can Tare be this bad? 😀
He seems to have no clue what he’s doing. Nkunku 38M, Jashari 36M, De Winter 20M, Odogu 10M, Estupinan 17M, Athekame 10M. Which of these players is actually worth the fee? None. Ricci was an old target and Rabiot was Allegri. 0. That is 131M€ spent on players that aren’t that useful. You could have gotten players of about the same output for half the money and brought in a proper striker. But Tare is just bad at what he does…
lol what a bunch of BS. Jashari was injured not Tare fault, De Winter is a very good player for that price. Also Tare pushed for Modric and Alegri which are the big reason why we are in a Title fight.

Some have decent logic behind it. De Winter played a lot last year and was pretty good. Just because he hasnt benched a resurgent tomori is no reason to say he flopped. Estupinian we probably overpriced and i feel we got specifically him because we wanted the opposite of Theo. We got a hardworker, no drama, industrious, defensive first player. Theo was great going forward, lazy going back, flashy etc. Anyway, i get your point. Odogu is still too young, but i mean in this market where Madrid pays 80M for an unproven 18 yr old from Brazil, perhaps we didnt overpay. The jury is still out on everyone else. I just dont think we should call them flops with less than half a season. Not everyone can be a Rabiot or a Tiji that get instant results. It doesnt mean they are terrible.
Does not appear to be a well thought out transfer. I can understand if Milan bought him then loaned him out immediately, to get mins, but this one seemed more of a panic buy than a well-planned acquisition for the future.
