It is believed that the new head coach Ruben Amorim has earmarked the midfield double pivot in his 3-4-2-1 system as one of the areas that needs some improvement, and there have been links with Sporting CP star Morten Hjulmand who he knows well.

However, Jogada10 report that Milan are preparing a €15m bid for Evertton Araújo, one of Flamengo’s stand-out players. Milan’s interest in the young midfielder is not recent, as the Italian team’s scouting department had been closely monitoring the player’s progress.

The information about the imminent offer was initially released by the Coluna do Fla website and confirmed by radio station Itatiaia. It comes after scouts watched the Brazilian league closely last season, leading to the attempt to sign André from Corinthians.

The Italians even reached a verbal agreement with the player, who agreed to waive his percentage of the transfer fee. They formalized an offer of €22m for 70% of his economic rights. However, Corinthians president Osmar Stábile backed out at the last minute due to strong protests.

At 23 years old, Evertton Araújo arrived at Flamengo in 2022 – initially to reinforce the U20 team – on loan from Volta Redonda. His consistent performance and rapid adaptation convinced Flamengo’s management to exercise their option to buy the player permanently at the end of the 2023 season.

Even with a squad full of international stars and veterans, the midfielder managed to carve out his own space through merit and secured a starting position in the team. Last season, he played 36 times and has already made 27 appearances in the first half of this year alone.
