AC Milan are still interested in exploring a deal to sign winger Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea once the window reopens, a report claims.
Milan capped off a successful 2022 with a win against Fiorentina on Sunday night at San Siro, ending a year that brought a first Scudetto in 11 years and a return to the last 16 of the Champions League in the best possible way.

Now that there is a long break for the World Cup to come the attention has shifted towards transfer speculation ahead of the January window, and it hasn’t taken long for Ziyech’s name to come up again as a target, if it ever really went away.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that in January the Moroccan could be an option that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara explore, given their long-standing admiration for the former Ajax man.
However, it is expected that a departure would be needed in that role – therefore either Alexis Saelemaekers or Junior Messias – otherwise the arrival of Ziyech would be ‘very complicated’.

Messias and Saelemekers are not even close to being good enough to start for a team that wants to beat Napoli for the scudetto.
They’re better than Ziyech.
I agree, I’d rather have them and their workload than Ziyech in his current salary and form.
