MN: Work well underway as Maldini and Massara proceed towards two summer signings

AC Milan ended up having a quiet January transfer window but they are already planning for the summer, with two targets standing out above all.

According to MilanNews, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara worked to sign Sven Botman and Renato Sanches in January, but the chances were always minimal so now they have turned their attention to the window reopening.

Regarding the Dutch defender, talks are well underway and in the coming weeks the management will try to plan everything that by the time May comes around Botman is virtually ready to arrive, just like happened when Mike Maignan arrived to replace Donnarumma.

Maldini and Massara are also going for Renato Sanches, and after conference calls held on Sunday that ultimately ended up in a failure to sign him in the winter, things are positive regarding a summer deal as the Portuguese international will only have a one-year contract with Lille.

However, a lot will depend on qualifying for the Champions League, the main target that the club hopes to achieve for the second year in a row after seven seasons of nothing.
