MN: Work well underway as Maldini and Massara proceed towards two summer signings

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan ended up having a quiet January transfer window but they are already planning for the summer, with two targets standing out above all.

According to MilanNews, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara worked to sign Sven Botman and Renato Sanches in January, but the chances were always minimal so now they have turned their attention to the window reopening.

Regarding the Dutch defender, talks are well underway and in the coming weeks the management will try to plan everything that by the time May comes around Botman is virtually ready to arrive, just like happened when Mike Maignan arrived to replace Donnarumma.

Maldini and Massara are also going for Renato Sanches, and after conference calls held on Sunday that ultimately ended up in a failure to sign him in the winter, things are positive regarding a summer deal as the Portuguese international will only have a one-year contract with Lille.

However, a lot will depend on qualifying for the Champions League, the main target that the club hopes to achieve for the second year in a row after seven seasons of nothing.

  1. These signing are completely up in the air. If a better offer comes from EPL, then they will surely go there, and not to Milan.

    1. Yes, that is why it was better to secure them now and leave till summer

Unless mgmt believes we may go out of top4, which is true

  2. That’s a bold move at best and a very irresponsible one at worst; by waiting until the Summer they’re jeopardizing Milan’s champions league spot this season, seeing how the rest of competitors got stronger, maybe Napoli not so much but they already had a stronger squad than Milan anyway. Nothing guarantees that Milan will play the champions league next season, especially now; if Milan don’t qualify to the Champions League, I doubt any agreement they might have with Renato and Botman will be honored, not to mention as good as they are, they’re probably going to replace Kessie and Romagnoli who are obviously going to leave next season (for free again, yay), so they’re very good players but they wouldn’t really improve the team we have right now that much, they would replace important players that are leaving.

    1. They have No any concrete target for this season , either Scudetto or qualify for UCL for Next season . Their main target was just play the game every game…:(

  3. This target are useless if AC Milan failed to finish top 4, none of them want to play in UEL. I just hoping AC Milan can make it finish top 4 at the end of season and winning coppa italy . That Will be decent but first they must try win in derby
