As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) report this morning, Milan must make a decision soon because they have already wasted too much time. The identikit has already been drawn up: the new manager will have to be experienced, Italian and have a deep knowledge of Serie A.

Two names stand out

At the moment, the process to revolve mainly around two names, namely Vincenzo Italiano and Massimiliano Allegri. Italiano has been at the top of Milan’s wish list for some time, but he is in talks with Bologna for a contract renewal.

Yesterday the parties met without yet reaching an agreement, even though the Rossoblu continue to be cautiously optimistic that an agreement will eventually be found. The Rossoneri are waiting and carefully observing what happens.

Until there is a signature, the directors will continue to press and is ready to put on the table a salary of more than €3m net per season, which is more than Bologna seem willing to offer. In short, the game is difficult, but it remains open.

However, many figures within the Rossoneri think that the right coach for this Milan is Allegri. The problem is that once again they have moved late because he is Napoli’s No.1 target in the event of Antonio Conte ‘s farewell, who should return to Juventus.

This is why Milan – if they really want to bring him back to Milanello – must get moving and make the call immediately, without wasting any more time. Otherwise, names like Roberto Mancini, Thiago Motta and Cesc Fabregas will be evaluated.
