There is no doubting the importance that Rafael Leao and Ismael Bennacer have in Stefano Pioli’s plans as both are among the immovable starters for big games and each has developed into being among the best in their position, but their contracts expire in June 2024.
According to the information of our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, the Milan management have made it clear they are willing to offer €6m net per season to renew Leao, which is not enough however for the entourage of the player who nevertheless reiterated to Milan the willingness to renew.
On the other hand, the negotiations over extending Bennacer are of a different nature. Maldini wants to raise his current salary to about €3.5m net including bonuses but there are various Premier clubs interested in the Algerian and they ready to table offers worth €4m fixed per year, so further talks will be needed.
