Olivier Giroud has come up with some vital goals since joining AC Milan but he is not currently experiencing his best patch of form, a report claims.
MilanNews writes that Giroud is feeling the strain of a long and arduous World Cup campaign in which France got to the final but lost on penalties to Argentina. The 36-year-old scored four goals at the tournament and continued his trend of being the man for the big occasion, but he seems to be feeling the effects now.
Giroud has not scored for Milan so far in 2023, with his last goal for the Rossoneri dating back to the match against Spezia on 5 November 2022. Since then, the former Chelsea man has taken to the field against Fiorentina, Salernitana, Roma, Torino (Coppa Italia), Lecce and Inter (Supercoppa) without netting once.
That means Giroud is currently experiencing his longest dry spell since he’s been with the club, surpassing that of last year in which he failed to score for five Serie A matches in a row between March and April last year, against Empoli, Cagliari, Bologna, Torino and Genoa.
