MN: Ibrahimovic behind in recovery program and will be denied San Siro swan song

It seems as though Zlatan Ibrahimovic could have already played his last game for AC Milan with the striker not expected to take part in Sunday’s season finale.

Ibrahimovic has been out for a few weeks now after he sustained a calf problem while warming up to come on during the 2-0 home win against Lecce, and there have been reports suggesting that he is targeting the game against Verona as a San Siro swan song.

However, MilanNews report that it appears ‘very difficult’ for the Swede to be part of Stefano Pioli’s squad for Sunday evening’s game, which will be the last of the Serie A campaign and therefore the final one before his deal expires.

The 41-year-old is still behind in his recovery program and the idea of seeing him on the field for one last hurrah ‘seems very complicated’.

He will certainly be present at the stadium though as he has been at all times when injured, and then it will perhaps be clear whether he will say goodbye to the fans or not.
