MN: Kjaer returns to training ahead of Monza game – the latest on his condition

Finally some good news has come on the injury front in the defensive department for AC Milan as Simon Kjaer returned to training with the rest of the squad.

According to MilanNews, Kjaer returned to group training approximately 50 days after his injury on the 29 October which made him miss nine official games. It started as muscle discomfort and then became an issue which was tough to shake off.

It obviously remains to be seen whether the Dane will be available against Monza on Sunday, and tomorrow’s final training session will be key in deciding that, but with captain Davide Calabria out it would certainly be a big help.

If he doesn’t start Stefano Pioli will have to choose one between Jan-Carlo Simic and Davide Bartesaghi, which means Theo Hernandez could finally return to the left-back role, given that Alessandro Florenzi will have to play on the right.

Samuel Chukwueze is fine too. The Nigerian trained with the rest of the group to prepare for Sunday’s match and he will battle Christian Pulisic for the starting spot on the right wing against Raffaele Palladino’s team.
