MN: Milan are interested in Real Madrid striker and Dortmund midfielder – the main obstacle

AC Milan are interested in moves for Luka Jovic and Mario Gotze but must first make room for them, according to a report.

MilanNews journalist Pietro Mazzara has assessed the recent links in the media to both the Real Madrid striker and the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

He references a report from Calciomercato.com claiming that Milan are evaluating an offer with Ralf Rangnick keen, a report Mazzara claims ‘has its foundations’ because the player can add important quality to the creative department.

The problem – something which extends to Jovic – is linked to the salary he receives. The German international should accept a reduction to get back into the game in Italy, while with Jovic it is difficult as he cost Real Madrid €60million a year ago and will not be sold off.

A plausible solution – the report adds – would be to negotiate a two-year loan for the Serbian frontman with an option or obligation to buy inserted. Again, the 22-year-old would have to take a wage cut but Milan must also know that a strong attacker must be paid.

To afford wage targets like the ones mentioned, the Rossoneri need to free up space in the salary pool.
