According to MilanNews, there is more than a small chance that Zlatan Ibrahimovic renews his contract ahead of next season, but even if he were to continue – at the age of 40 it must be added – Milan will have to think about how they want their attack to look next season.

The Rossoneri management identified in Mandzukic the best alternative, in terms of personality and characteristics, to be able to replace the Swede. Unfortunately, the Croatian has accumulated a series of injury problems and has not offered the guarantees hoped for.

If Milan qualify for the Champions League, Mandzukic would automatically have his contract renewed. This would mean that the attack – in case of the renewal of Zlatan – could be considered complete, also considering the presence of Rebic and Leao who can both play centre-forward if necessary.

However, Milan cannot afford to find themselves short-staffed in crucial phases of the season like they are now, so the suggestion is that a young striker with a certain physique and technique could sign in the summer and possible inherit the role of Ibrahimovic in the future.

The investment shouldn’t be so large, but it must be remembered how RB Salzburg paid just €8m to land Erling Halaand from Molde for example. This season the management has chosen to focus strongly on Leao, even as a “9”, but it is now established that the Portuguese gives his best as a winger.
