MN: Milan ready to reward Giroud as talks are underway over renewal

The AC Milan management are in talks with Olivier Giroud’s entourage over the extension of his contract, according to a report.

Giroud signed a two-year deal – therefore running until June 2023 – when he arrived from Chelsea during the summer of 2021. The French striker contributed decisively to the Scudetto victory last year with some huge goals and has also been excellent this season, working overtime while other forwards are out injured.

MilanNews reports that the Frenchman is seen as one of the certainties of Pioli’s attack and an example for the young players given his status as a leader within the dressing room.

That is why Milan are working to extend the contract of the former Chelsea man by at least a year, with an option on the second also being considered.

Therefore, work is in progress is not only to renew the young players of the squad, but also a veteran of absolute reliability like Giroud, who has the perfect attitude to mentor the others.
