MN: Pioli set to rest Calabria against Genoa with Florenzi coming in

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is expected to give captain Davide Calabria a rest today which would mean that Alessandro Florenzi starts at right-back, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, Calabria will be taken out of the side which may not be a huge shock given he received a lot of criticism for his performance against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Having recently come back from an injury, Calabria’s reintegration has not been smooth and he is expected to take time out of the starting eleven before the international break.

Florenzi was out for a very long time with an injury of his own last season but he has taken up a rotational utility role this season and Pioli will call on him again.

There will also be rotation in the attack with Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao dropping to the bench in place of Luka Jovic and Noah Okafor.
