MN: Questions must be asked of summer recruitment as trio struggle to stay fit

Question marks have arisen about three of Milan’s summer signings as they continue to miss games due to injury.

In his latest column for MilanNews, journalist Franco Ordine writes how in the last few days of the transfer window some players arrived that responded to economic needs rather than those of a technical nature.

However, Alessandro Florenzi – who arrived on an initial loan deal from Roma – is set to see a doctor in Rome about a persistent knee injury and some consider his reduced contribution so far to be explained by this ailment.

Then there is Olivier Giroud who in truth is still subdued in terms of his condition and below where he could be, having already missed important games due to a back problem, which at 34 and without regular starts for a while should maybe be expected.

Finally there is Junior Messias who arrived at Milanello with an injury and is struggling to dispose of it, and Ordine writes that Milan could ‘perhaps aspire to something better’, thus raising questions about the summer recruitment.
